WELLINGTON – Oct. 15, 2015 – On the occasion of its 10th anniversary and Co-op Week, Le Bel Âge Residential Co-op officially opened its brand new Laurinda and Alice Gallant Park Wednesday, Oct. 14. The park serves as a tribute to the two late sisters, who had previously sold for a few dollars a huge lot of land to the co-op so that it could build its seniors apartment complex. Sonny Gallant, MLA for Evangeline Miscouche, and Angèle Moore, Wellington branch manager of the Evangeline-Central Credit Union, had the honour of unveiling the park’s new sign.

Roger « Co-op » Arsenault, who donated a parcel of land to Le Bel Âge Residential Co-op in Wellington for the establishment of a community park, cuts the ribbon to officially open the brand-new Laurinda and Alice Gallant Park. Assisting him are Co-op residents Léo and Eva Richard, left, and Jeannine Arsenault, former client services officer with Wellington Rural Action Centre (who had helped secure funding for the park).
