WELLINGTON – Nov. 26, 2015 – Eleven people came to a lunch-and-learn in Wellington Nov. 25 to learn all about provincial employment standards. The Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI and the Wellington Rural Action Centre organized this much-appreciated event, entitled “Employment Standards and You”. Robert Yeo, PEI Chief Labour Standards Officer, provided an overview of the Employment Standards Act including such topics as wages, hours of work, overtime, vacation pay, special leaves and youth employment rules (for employees under 16 years). He also answered many questions.
