Everything falling into place for Dragons’ Contest and Entrepreneurs’ Gala

Innovation PEI sponsoring both events

SUMMERSIDE – March 8, 2017 – Everything seems to be falling in place – at the last minute as usual – for the 2017 combined editions of the Dragons’ Contest and the Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala. Employees of RDÉE Canada and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI are running around these days to finalize all the details of their biggest night of the year.

The double event kicks off March 18 at 5 p.m. at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside. Three finalists will first present their entrepreneurial project to a national panel of “dragons” for a chance to win the $10,000 first prize and other gifts. Then, at the Gala, seven of 19 finalists will win entrepreneurial awards in various categories.

Tickets are on sale until THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 10, at the Centre Belle-Alliance, at the Wellington Rural Action Centre and at the Carrefour in Charlottetown.

This great evening of celebration is made possible thanks to contributions from sponsors, such as Innovation PEI, which is contributing $3,500 towards the Dragons’ Contest prize and $1,500 to the Gala. The Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Heath MacDonald (left), who is responsible for Innovation PEI, recently met with Martin Marcoux, spokesman for the Acadian Chamber and board member of the RDÉE, to present him the sponsorship cheque.
