Partners planning “Business After Hours Social” at UPEI Feb. 27

CHARLOTTETOWN – Feb. 23, 2020 – The Island business community, both Francophone and Anglophone, is invited to join together for a major networking event with the student population at the University of Prince Edward Island Thursday, Feb. 27, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Fox & Crow Student Pub, located in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre Building, on the UPEI campus in Charlottetown.

This mixer is part of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce’s « Business After Hours » series. It is being organized in collaboration with the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI (CCAFLIPE), RDÉE Prince Edward Island and the Wellington Rural Action Centre, as well as the UPEI Student Union and the UPEI Business Society.

« This mixer will once again provide an opportunity for business people to interact with each other and especially with university students looking to network in regards to future employment possibilities, » said CCAFLIPE event coordinator Raymond J. Arsenault. « It will therefore also be a good place for employers to meet potential future employees. »

He added that the RDÉE will take advantage of the event primarily to promote its PERCÉ post-secondary internship program as well as its other initiatives.

Nikita Whitty, communications and events coordinator for the Charlottetown Chamber, expects that this particular event could be one of the biggest « Business After Hours » socials of the year.

The three partner organizations from the Acadian and Francophone community will provide a wide variety of hors d’oeuvres to the assembled crowd. Door prizes (including this nice cinema-styled popcorn machine) and free promotional items will also be offered by the partners and other exhibitors who will be manning a few information booths. A cash bar service will also be offered.
