ABRAM-VILLAGE – Aug. 9, 2022 – Those who would like to benefit from the services of the 12 teenagers from the Hard Workers Youth Services Co-op should act quickly because their work will officially end for the season this Aug. 24th!

To date, the Co-op has been hired mainly to do painting and weeding contracts in various Island communities: Miscouche, Rustico, Tyne Valley, Union Cornier, Summerside and the Evangeline area. However, they remind people that they can also offer a variety of other services: mowing lawns, cleaning garages, washing cars, gardening, babysitting, dog sitting and walking, etc. And all this at an affordable price.

The main goals of the Youth Service Co-op are to show youth how to work together as a board of directors and how to deliver good customer service, while discovering the good feeling that comes from doing a job well. The youth also earn some spending money for every hour they work; at the end of the season, they will decide how to spend the year’s profits (including the possibility of a rebate or group activity).

RDÉE Prince Edward Island, which has been hosting the program for over 20 years, encourages people, organizations and businesses to retain the services of the co-op youth in order to support them on their professional development and career journey.

Those who would like to offer a work contract to the co-op are asked to email coordinators Stephanie Arsenault (stephanie@rdeeipe.org) or Ryanna Ryan (ryanna@rdeeipe.org) for an estimate. Please note that youth are available to do work only Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.; they are not available on weekends.
