Gerard « Turk » Gallant (second from left), head coach of the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers who hails from Summerside, participated for the first time in the Acadian Golf Tournament at Mill River on August 21. He and teammates Eddie Annand, Dennis Richards and Rick Annand did not win the championship but apparently still had a great time.

The Liberal Party of PEI’s interim leader Sonny Gallant who is also MLA for Evangeline-Miscouche (second from right) always participates in the Acadian Golf Tournament. He again participated this past Sunday, Aug. 21, with teammates Linda Gallant, Hartland Jessome and Marcella Poirier.
