Seven competitors registered for the Francophone Ignition Contest

WELLINGTON – Jan. 12, 2022 – Seven Island competitors, all with interesting business ideas, have registered to participate in the 2023 edition of RDÉE Prince Edward Island’s Francophone Ignition Contest. They include business projects in areas such as food manufacturing, product sales, professional training delivery, an audio-visual service, sports training delivery and a recreational/sports activity service. Competitors will participate in two days of mandatory training to learn how to develop and pitch their projects on Jan. 28-29, 2023. They will then present their projects a first time to a local panel of judges on Feb. 11; the judges will select the top three projects to proceed to the next round of competition. At the finals on March 2, at 7 p.m. at the Village musical acadien in Abram-Village, a provincial jury will select the project with the best potential for success and award it $25,000 and other rewards. In the photo, contest coordinator Alecia Arsenault thanks Raymond J. Arsenault, activity coordinator for the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, since the Chamber will be providing a free one-year membership to each of the contest’s three finalists.
