ABRAM-VILLAGE, PEI – Oct. 24, 2012 – About 175 people filled up on free spaghetti and pizza during a Co-op Week family community dinner at Centre Expo-Festival in Abram-Village Oct. 21.
Youngster Tyson Short and his mom Giselle were among the lucky people who enjoyed the meal as well as lively entertainment provided by singers-musicians Debbie Rousselle-Montgomery, Keelin Wedge, Tracy Gallant, Emily Montgomery and Kelsey Richard.
Several volunteers associated with the co-op movement served the meal, bussed the tables and washed the dishes.
Those in attendance were invited to contribute non-perishable foods for the Summerside Food Bank.
After lunch, about 100 children went skating for free at Evangeline Recreation Centre, where they received a hot chocolate. Several door prizes were given during the two activities.
This event was organized by the Conseil de développement coopératif de l’Î.-P.-É., Wellington Co-op, Evangeline-Central Credit Union and Farm Credit Canada.
