Canadian embassy in France inviting employers to lunch-and-learn on recruiting qualified immigrants

February 26 at the Quality Inn in Charlottetown

Charlottetown, February 11, 2013 – All employers who are considering hiring Francophone and bilingual immigrants are invited to a lunch and on Tuesday, February 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Quality Inn located at 150 Euston Street in Charlottetown.

Representatives of services to the public at the Canada Embassy in France and a representative of the visa office in Tunis will be on hand to tell employers about how to recruit qualified Francophone and bilingual immigrants in France, Belgium, Tunisia and other French-speaking countries, and give them the tools to do so.

“Francophone and Anglophone employers will be able to obtain clear, accurate information on the possibilities for hiring and recruiting French-speaking and bilingual immigrants abroad based on their needs for workers, as well as on the processes involved and the stakeholders who can support them,” says Jacinthe Lemire, Provincial Coordinator for the Coopérative d’intégration francophone de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard (CIF).

This event is part of a liaison tour of Canada from February 26 to March 13, 2013. Other stops on the tour include Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario.

This lunch and learn is a collaboration among the CIF, RDÉE Prince Edward Island’s LIENS project and the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA). We wish to thank Citizenship and Immigration Canada for funding the event.

Seats are limited, so interested parties are asked to register as soon as possible by contacting Carrie Cormier at (902) 370-7333 or carrie@rdeeipe.org. The deadline for registrations is Tuesday, February 19.
