Radio-Canada to play key role during 2013 Entrepreneurs’ Gala

Voice of “Le Réveil” host to present finalist biographies

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – Feb. 21, 2013 – The host of the French morning radio show “Le Réveil”, produced by Radio-Canada Acadie will play a key role in the 2013 Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala.

“We are extremely pleased that the host Denis Duchesne has agreed to lend us his very recognizable, solid and animated voice to prerecord the short biographies of all our finalists so that we can play them at opportune moments during our awards gala, slated for Saturday, March 16 in Summerside,” says Raymond J. Arsenault, coordinator of this 12th annual gala hosted by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI (CCAFLIPE).

“With Duchesne’s professional radio voice, we are assured of a quality  tone that is both pleasing to the ear and that will easily retain everyone’s attention for the whole evening,” he adds. “When the organizing committee discussed the possibility of prerecording the biographies, Duchesne’s name was the very first one on the list.”

The Chamber is glad Duchesne and his bosses accepted the request without hesitation. In fact, he will be able to do the recording during his work hours in Radio-Canada’s studios in Charlottetown. In exchange for this great contribution and collaboration, which will help elevate the quality of the Gala, the Chamber is graciously giving Radio-Canada the status of major sponsor.

“Our objective this year is to organize the nicest entrepreneurial awards ceremony on PEI. So we’re going all out with the bells and whistles – music, sound effects, lighting effects, picture presentations – you name it,” explains Arsenault. “Over the past few years, our executive attended the awards ceremonies of several other Island chambers; they say we are giving those other events a good run for their money. So we’ll let those who attend our gala evening be the judges.”

Arsenault will return as the gala’s master of ceremonies for the 10th year in a row.

The Gala will again be held at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside, starting with a networking reception at 6 p.m., followed by a banquet at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation of five regular awards and a special award after the meal.

Tickets for the Gala are on sale until March 8 at the Centre as well as at the RDÉE PEI offices in Charlottetown and Summerside at $25 plus GST each for members and $30 plus GST each for non-members. Friends, colleagues and families of all finalists are urged to attend, as are all members of the Chamber.
