Lunch-and-learn to teach participants how to attain financial independence

WELLINGTON – Nov. 5, 2013 – “According to a widely believed misconception, ordinary people can’t attain financial independence, but nothing could be further from the truth! On the contrary, everyone has the capacity to accumulate assets beyond their dreams!” claims Arthur Buote, district representative for Primera Financial Services.

Buote, from Rustico, will be the guest speaker at two lunch-and-learns organized jointly, later this month, by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI and the Wellington Rural Action Centre. The first one will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 12 noon in the boardroom at the Rural Action Centre at 48 Mill Road, Wellington. The second is slated for Thursday, Nov. 21, at 12 noon at the Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean at 5 Acadian Dr., Charlottetown.

The presentation, delivered in French, will help participants, including entrepreneurs and individuals, to better understand various concepts that will help them attain financial independence.

Many people who have never earned six-figure salaries succeed in attaining financial independence. So how do they do it? Doesn’t such a premise require a person to receive a huge salary? A huge inheritance? A major lottery win?

“The answer is no,” affirms Buote. “In truth, regardless of your income, financial security is an attainable goal if you take the time to assimilate a few fundamental financial principles. You can put money aside, pay off your debts and get on the track to financial independence.”

It should be noted that the presentation will focus mostly on general principles to attain financial independence. At the end of the session, Buote will speak briefly about the services offered by his firm.

The registration fee for this lunch-and-learn is $5 for Chamber and RDÉE PEI members and $10 for non-members. This cost covers both a light lunch and the session. To register, contact Jeannine Arsenault at (902) 854-2328, Ext. 228, or at Jeannine@rdeeipe.org no later than Nov. 18.
