Four Island businesses named finalists in national Lauriers de la PME 2014 awards competition

Lauriers2014OTTAWA – Oct. 15, 2014 – RDÉE Canada has just announced the names of the finalists in its national Lauriers de la PME 2014 competition. Four of the 29 finalists retained for the contest are from Prince Edward Island.

They are Ron’s Construction of Urbainville (Micro-business), HMS Office Supplies Ltd. of Summerside (Retail Business), Atlantic Roofers Ltd. of Winsloe (Services Business) and OMD Construction and Consulting of Maximeville (Young Entrepreneurs).

“We are extremely proud of these businesses, who were all recognized provincially during our own Entrepreneurs’ Gala last March,” says Martin Marcoux, president of RDÉE Prince Edward Island. “Once again, Prince Edward Island proves that the talent and quality of its francophone business people are of national calibre. Such a recognition is simply fantastic.”

The national competition aims to recognize entrepreneurial excellence for small and medium-sized businesses in Canada’s Francophone and Acadian minority communities. The five winners will be announced at the Delta Beauséjour hotel in Moncton (New Brunswick) on November 15.

This sixth edition of the competition will bring well-deserved recognition to the Francophone entrepreneurs who excel in their day-to-day business activities. Organizers hope that this event will continue to be a source of inspiration for other emerging and established Francophone entrepreneurs.

“On behalf of the board and staff of RDÉE Prince Edward Island, I want to sincerely congratulate our four national finalists and we wish them best of luck in Moncton on Nov. 15,” concludes Marcoux.

The session promises to generate productive discussion and fruitful exchange, and it will be an opportunity for RDÉE Canada and its members to listen to participants’ needs first-hand.

RDÉE Canada appreciates the help of its partners, without whom this event would not have been possible: Cayenne Creative, Rideau Travel, Marcil Lavallée Chartered Accountants and the Canadian CED Network.
