2025 Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala getting ready to honor and induct

ABRAM-VILLAGE – Feb. 3, 2025 – The Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce is in the final weeks of preparation for the 2025 edition of its very popular Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala on Saturday, March 22, at 5:30 p.m.

Once again held at the Village musical acadien in Abram-Village, this colorful and formal evening will present a host of entrepreneurial awards and recognitions to businesspeople and businesses from Abram-Village to Stratford. In addition, four very deserving entrepreneurs from Cape Egmont to Cavendish will be inducted into the PEI Acadian and Francophone Businessl Hall of Fame.

“Be sure to buy your tickets as soon as possible to attend our biggest entrepreneurial recognition evening of the year,” suggests Chamber spokesperson Janine Arsenault. “Last year, we sold out. We anticipate that this year’s Gala will also be a great success.”

As always, the formal evening will begin with a brief message of welcome from the Chamber’s spokesperson, followed by a delicious three-course banquet with wine. Details of the meal will be announced in the coming weeks.

AWARDS PRESENTATION

Following the sumptuous supper, RDÉE Prince Edward Island will present its Young Millionaires of the Year 2024 Awards (for work completed last summer) to either Jaylynn Perry and Sarah Wagner of Sweet Scents from the Evangeline region, or Mark and Lutchina Nakhleh of M&L Company from the Charlottetown area. The RDÉE will then present the annual 2025 Annual PEI IMPACT DD Recognition Award to an Island business that has distinguished itself in the field of sustainable development; no details about the winner are being announced in advance.

The Acadian Chamber’s 2025 Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award will be presented to sole finalist Lucas Arsenault, a professional international kiteboarder and co-owner of Cousins Estates and Maritime Building Materials. Next up, the Abram-Village Handcraft Co-op, also the sole finalist in its category, will receive the 2025 Social Economy Business Award.

Three finalists will then compete for the 2025 Distinguished Employee Award: Andréa Deveau, executive director of the Conseil acadien de Rustico, Nathalie Malo, human resources manager of the French Language School Board, and Tammy Strongman, resident care team leader at Le Chez-Nous Co-op in Wellington.

There are also three finalists up for the 2025 Business Excellence Award: Distinct Magic Events (Solange Aké) of Stratford, Island Portable Buildings/Acadian Roofing (Robert Poirier) of St. Raphael and Pho-Arts Visual Images & Designs (Léona Arsenault) of Abram-Village.

And finally, four individuals who have contributed enormously to the local economy and their respective communities will be inducted into the Business Hall of Fame:
– Donnie Arsenault, Wellington Service Centre, multi-entrepreneur, Wellington;
– The late Louise Comeau, multi-entrepreneur and SDBA general manager, Cape Egmont;
– Leonard Gallant, Len’s Grocery and car salesman, Wellington and Summerside;
– Linda Lowther, The Lowther Group, multi-entrepreneur, Cavendish.

TICKETS ON SALE

Tickets for the evening are $50 (tax included) and are on sale from now until March 14, in person at the Wellington Rural Action Centre (48 Mill Road). Reservations can also be made by calling 902-854-3439 or e-mailing marthe@rdeeipe.org. E-transfers, credit cards, cheques and cash are accepted. The ticket price covers a delicious three-course meal, wine, full participation in the evening, a small promotional gift from ProMax 2000 and the chance to win some great door prizes.

The evening’s main sponsors (Platinum and Gold levels) will be announced in the coming weeks.
