WELLINGTON – Oct. 18, 2024 – These Co-op and Small Business Weeks, people in the Evangeline and surrounding areas are invited to contribute non-perishable food for the West Prince Caring Cupboard food bank (Tyne Valley branch). Individuals, families, businesses and organizations have until Saturday, October 26, to contribute food (or money) to the community food drive; simply bring your donations to the Wellington Co-op or Provincial Credit Union (Evangeline branch) in Wellington during regular business hours. Co-op produce manager Maureen Morlog is seen examining the food that had come in as of noon on October 18. Organizers of the food drive hope that the public will be extremely generous this year, as there are so many people who need help. Everyone who contributes receives a ticket for a draw for a $100 Co-op gift card. Families also have the option of offering their contributions via Évangéline School (October 14 to 24), which is organizing a school drive and contest offering $100 to the class that collects the most food per student.
