don aux pompiers lowresWELLINGTON – Oct. 29, 2014 – Firefighters from the Wellington Fire Department generously accepted to serve as dealers and hosts of the 12 gambling games set up at the Wellington Legion Oct. 25 for a benefit casino for the Summerside Salvation Army Food Bank. The evening was organized on the occasion of Co-ops and Small Business Week.

To thank the volunteers, the organizers of the evening (partners in co-op and economic development) presented them with a $500 donation to help the fire department in its constant effort to modernize its equipment. Angèle Arsenault, president of the Conseil de développement coopératif, is shown presenting the donation to department representatives (from left) captain Rick Arsenault, firefighter Desmond Arsenault and deputy chief James Ryan. The evening was a complete success; players and dealers both had lots of fun.
