Marketing and promotion workshops planned for French-speaking entrepreneurs

WELLINGTON, PEI – December 16, 2011 – ProfitLearn PEI, in collaboration with the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI (CCAFLIPE), will soon offer a series of four entrepreneurial workshops, in French, covering various aspects of marketing and promotion. All Francophone and bilingual employers, entrepreneurs, co-operators and employees are invited to register for these four-hour sessions that all begin at 6 p.m.

“Our chamber members had indicated in a survey last spring that they wanted a bit more advanced training in marketing and promotion since a number of beginner-level sessions have been given many times over the years,” explains Raymond J. Arsenault, who coordinates the chamber’s activities. “This series of sessions will specifically address the topics and levels being sought by our members.”

The first workshop, on the preparation of marketing plans, will be delivered Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Charlottetown campus of the Collège Acadie Î.-P.-É. at 119 Kent St., 5th floor, and again Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the college’s Wellington campus at 48 Mill Road.

The second workshop, on business promotion, takes place Tuesday, Jan. 17, at RDÉE PEI’s Charlottetown boardroom at 137 Queen St., Suite 204, and Wednesday, Jan. 18, at RDÉE’s Wellington boardroom, also at 48 Mill Road.

February sessions will address branding and market research. Dates will be announced later.

“The four topics will be presented in logical sequence so people attending all four would get a good global picture of the marketing process,” adds Arsenault. “Attending one course is, however, not a prerequisite for the next course. Each can be considered a stand-alone course.”

The registration fee per session is $45 plus GST for CCAFLIPE and RDÉE members and $50 plus GST for non-members. To register for the Charlottetown sessions, people may contact Carrie Wright at (902) 370-7333 or carrie@rdeeipe.org; to register for the Wellington sessions, people are asked to contact Jeannine Arsenault at (902) 854-2328, Ext. 228, or Jeannine@sdbaipe.org. Cheques, payable to ProfitLearn PEI, must be received by the registration deadline of Jan. 4.
