CHARLOTTETOWN – Feb. 27, 2024 – Radio-Canada Acadie is returning yet again as a Gold-level sponsor of the Entrepreneurs’ Gala hosted by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI (CCAFLIPE). Instead of providing monetary support, the national radio station lends the voice of its host and producer Denis Duchesne from the program Le Réveil Île-du-Prince-Édouard to the CCAFLIPE to record audio biographies of the finalists and winners of the Gala awards as well as the Business Hall of Fame inductees. This will be the 11th time that Gala attendees will hear Duchesne’s voice as they watch images of each finalist’s life on the big screen.
In exchange for this year’s sponsorship, Radio-Canada Acadie will have the honour of presenting the 2023 Young Millionaires Awards to participants of this youth entrepreneurial program who have been successful in their business ventures this past summer and in previous years.
This year’s finalists are Ava Greencorn from Ava’s Candy Clouds in St-Nicholas; Casen Arsenault from Casen’s Perler Bead Creations in Abram-Village; Jada Carragher from Jada’s Arts and Crafts in Huntley and Nico Durant from Durant’s Grass Cutting of Mont-Carmel.
CCAFLIPE considers Radio-Canada Acadie and Duchesne (on the right in the photo) to be pillars of the Gala’s traditions. The coordinator of the entrepreneurial recognition evening, Raymond J. Arsenault, recently visited the station’s studio to discuss the sponsorship with Duchesne.
The Gala, which will take place on March 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Village musical acadien in Abram-Village, will begin with a delicious three-course meal. CCAFLIPE will then induct eight entrepreneurs into its PEI Acadian and Francophone Business Hall of Fame and present awards in six different categories. Tickets are on sale through March 8 at the Wellington Rural Action Center and at 902-854-3439.
