Record profit of $10,000 made at 17th Acadian Golf Tournament

STRATFORD – Sept. 10, 2023 – The 17th Acadian Golf Tournament, played on the morning of Sept. 10 under beautiful blue skies at Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford, recorded a record profit of approximately $10,000, confirmed Joceline Arsenault, president of the PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie.

Speaking at the tournament’s closing luncheon, Arsenault thanked the 63 sponsors, 92 golfers and 10 volunteers who ensured the success of the annual event, held for the first time at the Stratford course. She added that the tournament, organized in partnership with the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, is the Regional Committee’s only fundraiser of the year, so the support received is much appreciated. The funds raised will help to pay its annual sports, cultural and personal development programming, including the participation of over 100 young Islanders in the next Finals of Les Jeux de l’Acadie in the Greater Bouctouche region of New Brunswick in June 2024.

Here are the tournament results and the winners of the day’s various contests and prizes:
• 1st place (60 points): The Young Golfers (Théo Hustler, Brent Arsenault and André Bernard)
• 2nd place (60 points): The Champs (Greg Arsenault, Nicholas Gallant, Ghislain Bernard and Jamie Caissie)
