ABRAM-VILLAGE – Aug. 21, 2015 – Romain the Hypnotist-Comedian promises he will fully entertain the crowds and make them go through a whole variety of emotions during his four shows Sept. 5-6 during the Evangeline Area Agricultural Exhibition and Acadian Festival in Abram’s Village. He’ll be hitting the outdoor stage Saturday at 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12 noon and 4:30 p.m.

« The volunteer participants chosen from the audience will get an unforgettable experience, » he explains. As far as the audience is concerned, « I make them dream, I make them laugh and I fascinate them. That’s why my show is called Fascination. The strength of my show is the laughter and the positivity that emanates from it. »

It’s a family show, free of any vulgarities and respectful of each individual. Each hypnotized subject will however dare to do things they wouldn’t normally dare to do but actually would want to do. « Become a movie star, a rock star, a fashion model. Give a concert in front of millions of fans and give a splendid guitar solo, even though you may not even know how to play. Meet your idol or become the idol of your fellow hypnotized subject, » he suggests.

On the other hand, he assures everyone that nobody can be hypnotized against their will. « The hypnotist does not have total control of your subconscious mind. The conscious is always on guard and will prevent you from doing something that you wouldn’t want to do. »

Romain Gagnon, who lives in Chicoutimi, Quebec, first became fascinated by this field when he saw a hypnotist show in high school back in 1979. Right away, his curiosity pushed him to research hypnosis, to get training and to develop his own talent and show. Nowadays, he performs about 100 shows a year in Quebec, New Brunswick and, for the first time this year, in Prince Edward Island.

Exhibition and Festival president Alcide Bernard says hypnosis shows are always well appreciated at the festival. « We look forward to seeing Mr. Gagnon’s show since we’ve been told he is extremely entertaining. »
