Information session on Shop PEI and course on digital marketing strategies slated for Feb. 10

WELLINGTON – Jan. 15, 2021 – Online sales continue to grow in popularity, especially in these times of pandemic when people need to stay home. Experts say that artisans, manufacturers and manufacturers who sell their products online greatly increase their chances of success.

That’s why the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI and the Wellington Rural Action Centre are offering two sessions (in person and in French) Wednesday, Feb. 10, to further educate people on how to start selling online. (The number of registrants will determine which meeting room will be used.)

First, at 11 a.m., everyone is invited to attend a free one-hour information session on Shop PEI Marketplace, an online store that offers Island artisans, artists and entrepreneurs a new way to sell their products online. During the session, participants will learn about the benefits of doing business with Shop PEI, the services offered and pricing, and how to list their products on this online store.

A lunch will then be offered at 12 noon for $5.75 including HST.

ONLINE MARKETING

Then, starting at 1 p.m., a 90-minute course on how to prepare a digital marketing strategy will be offered. This course is intended for entrepreneurs and managers who wish to improve their online marketing performance. The nine key elements of a digital marketing strategy will be explained: advertising, website, email, cellphone use, social media, conversational and search optimization. The registration fee for this training will be $11.50, HST included.

People have the option of attending both sessions or either part of the day. Lunch is optional for all participants but must be reserved in advance.

The presenter for both portions of the day will be Jacinthe Lemire, owner of Shop PEI Marketplace and Solutions Eurêka experts-conseils. She specializes in community development and project management and has extensive knowledge in the field of marketing and promotion.

To register for one or two of the sessions or for the meal, contact Josée Ouellette at (902) 854-3439, ext. 228, or at josee@rdeeipe.org, no later than Feb. 5.
