Business people invited to special Chamber mixer in Summerside

reception-reseautage-summerside-2015lowresSUMMERSIDE – Nov. 1, 2016 – All Francophone and Anglophone business people, especially those from the East Prince region, are invited to participate free of charge in a special Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce business mixer at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

As they do each year for this particular event, several economic development partners from the Acadian community of PEI, namely the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, the Wellington Rural Action Centre, the Collège Acadie Î.-P.-É. and RDÉE Prince Edward Island, have joined forces to host the mixer for the Summerside Chamber.

« We’ve been told that this particular mixer that we co-host annually is always one of the Summerside Chamber’s biggest mixers of the year, » says Martin Marcoux, spokesperson for the Acadian Chamber. « It always attracts about 100 people. It is therefore an ideal place to meet business people in a relaxed atmosphere and to establish business relationships with them. The informal exchanges that are had at such receptions often translate into future business opportunities. »

As well, all those who wish to set up an information booth, at a cost of $75, may do so to showcase their products and services. Those who have booths will also get to make a brief « elevator pitch » about their products during the formal ceremonies of the event. To reserve a booth, businesses may contact the Summerside Chamber at (902) 436-9651 or megan@summersidechamber.com. (The number of available booth spaces is limited.)

In addition to meeting other business people, participants will be able to enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres and get a chance to win several gifts that the booths will offer as door prizes. Those who will visit all the booths with their « mixer passport » will also get a chance to win extra prizes.

“Be sure to bring along your business cards,” concludes Marcoux.
