Supporting local shopping

WELLINGTON – Oct. 18, 2024 – Several people took advantage of the “Love Local, PEI” photo zone, outside the Wellington Co-op, Friday afternoon to get their pictures taken as they showed their support for local shopping at local merchants. The signs will remain there until early evening, so everyone is invited to go snap a selfie and post it on their social media. This corner was set up on the occasion of Co-op and Small Business Weeks. Among the people photographed were: 1. Nola Richard from Wellington Co-op and Annette Richard from the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline; 2. Andrew Fisk, employee of the Wellington Co-op; 3. Gilles Painchaud, chairman of both Le Chez-Nous Co-op and Evangeline Funeral Co-op; 4. Lindsay Biemann and Marcia Arsenault from Murphy’s Wellington Pharmacy; and shoppers Zita Arsenault and Marcel Arsenault.
