Training to show employers how to integrate newcomer employees into workplace

WELLINGTON – March 12, 2025 – All francophone employers and managers (as well as anyone involved in welcoming and integrating new employees) are invited to a training session on Tuesday, April 15, at 12 p.m. at Wellington’s Rural Action Centre to learn how to better integrate newcomer employees into their team and workplace.

The 90-minute workshop, in French only, will be delivered in a lunch-and-learn format by trainer Bruce Joshua of Capstan Consulting. Joshua will draw on content from the new French “Guide to Diversity, Inclusion and Equity in The Workplace” to deliver the training.

“Hiring new talent from immigrant backgrounds is an asset for companies, but integration can be a challenge,” according to Bienvenue Évangéline managers. “The project, in collaboration with several partners, has therefore designed this new practical guide to support employers and give them concrete tools to foster an inclusive and effective work environment.”

“This training session will present the key points of the guide, tips that can be applied right from the hiring stage, and strategies to ensure successful integration,” explains Joshua. “At the same time, it will be an opportunity to share your experiences and obtain resources tailored to your needs!”

Each participating company or organization will receive a copy of the new guide.

The training is offered in conjunction with the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI and the Wellington Rural Action Centre, who also want to help facilitate the successful integration of any new employee into the Island workforce.

The registration fee of $10 (tax included) will cover the meal, guide and training. To register before April 11, contact Marthe Ngombi at marthe@rdeeipe.org or 902-854-3439.
