To network and learn about internship program and sales missions

WOODSTOCK – Sept. 22, 2023 – The West Prince business community will get a chance to mingle with Acadian businesspeople as well as to learn a bit about the PERCÉ internship program and sales missions to Quebec during an Oct. 18th business mixer at Mill River Resort in Woodstock.

All Chamber members and other interested businesspeople are invited to attend this free and upbeat social event, being co-organized and co-hosted by West Prince Chamber of Commerce and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI to jointly celebrate Co-op and Small Business Weeks. Running from 4-6 p.m., the mixer will feature delightful conversation, delicious hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar service.

The Acadian Chamber’s parent organisation, RDÉE Prince Edward Island (the provincial francophone economic development council) will also give two brief presentations on programs that could benefit the West Prince business community.

Program coordinator Alecia Arsenault will present the 21-year-old PERCÉ internship program, which provides a wage subsidy to employers to hire Island students for the summer months to give them work experience in their field of studies.

Mission coordinator Robert Maddix will talk about his highly successful sales missions to Quebec and how Island businesses with a bilingual capacity can benefit from pitch training and a partly subsidized weeklong trip to Montreal and surrounding areas to sell their wares during prearranged sales meetings.

Participants will also get to chat in an informal setting about their services and to learn about other people’s services. They will also get a chance to win a series of door prizes.

This event is being sponsored by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI.
